The reasons for choosing to work in Japan

1. Low-Cost Acquisition of Japanese Passport or Permanent Residency

Living in Japan for over 5 years with 3 years of work experience allows one to apply for a Japanese passport. Alternatively, residing in Japan for a minimum of 10 years with 5 years of work experience enables the application for permanent residency. Apart from the inability to vote, holders of permanent residency can enjoy various welfare benefits in Japan, including healthcare, education, and retirement.

2. Health Insurance

Individuals aged 20 and above residing in Japan are required to join health insurance. Foreigners working in Japan must contribute to insurance and avail themselves of public healthcare services like Japanese nationals. This is mandatory for everyone, and not joining the national health plan is considered illegal. All employees can access the same medical services as Japanese citizens. Additionally, companies in Japan often require employees to undergo an annual health check, with most covering the associated costs.

3. Stable Employment and Personal Skill Enhancement

Despite changes in Japan's unique employment culture, the practice of long-term employment still exists in Japanese companies. Dismissals are rare unless serious legal or contractual violations occur. Companies in Japan tend to educate employees internally, resulting in few cases of layoffs. Many Japanese companies, assuming long-term employment, implement employee training programs, creating manuals for job responsibilities and workflows. Some companies provide additional learning opportunities as employee benefits.

4. Employee Benefits

A) Paid Leave: All companies offer at least 10 days of paid leave to regular and contract employees after six months. Japan has at least 15 public holidays, and many companies close for a few days during summer or New Year. B) Overtime Pay: Companies are required to pay overtime if employees work more than 40 hours per week, unless they hold a managerial position. C) Maternity Leave: Maternity leave in Japan covers 6 weeks before the expected delivery date to 8 weeks after childbirth.

5. High Income

Japan's labor force shortage has been a significant issue, and the government welcomes foreign professionals to maintain the labor force and income levels. In major Japanese cities, hourly wages for most regular jobs are around 1500 yen, with a monthly average minimum wage of approximately 240,000 yen or about 1600 USD for a 40-hour workweek. Overtime pay contributes to higher incomes for extended working hours.

6. Quality Living Environment

Japan is one of the safest countries globally, ranking 9th in the Global Peace Index for 2022, maintaining a position in the top 10 for 13 consecutive years. Japan boasts a superior natural environment with moderate rainfall and pleasant weather. Japanese citizens prioritize cleanliness, contributing to a clean and sanitary public environment. The country's focus on environmental protection ensures consistently high air quality globally.

Choose your route

The service solutions we offer for employment in Japan

Compare the three application plans and choose the route that best matches your experience, Japanese level and long-term goals.

Plan A

Convert study visa to official work visa

Can work in Japan for a long time, ensuring long-term renewal of work visa.

Contents of the plan: After the employee signs the agreement, our company will apply for a one-year Japanese student visa for the employee. After the visa reaches the renewal period or is qualified for the job, it will be converted into a formal Japanese work visa. The first three months after arriving in Japan are the Japanese language learning period. Two weeks after enrollment, our company will arrange a temporary job on a part-time basis, with a monthly basic salary of JPY¥180,000-240,000.

Matching job types: All the industry above-mentioned.

Salary: Basic salary is JPY¥240,000/month, overtime salary is JPY¥81,000-162,000/month.

Basic application requirements: 18-35 years old with a college degree or above (vocational). Applicants with a college degree (vocational) must reach Japanese N2 before converting to a formal work visa.

Dependent visa: One month after obtaining the humanities visa, you can apply for a family residence visa and enjoy Japanese social welfare.

Plan B

Convert study visa to Specific Skills Visa No. 1

Guaranteed continuous renewal for 5 years or a one-time 5-year visa. After expiration, transfer to a No. 2 visa or formal work visa after assessment.

Contents of the plan: After the employee signs the agreement, our company will apply for a one-year Japanese student visa. After the visa reaches the renewal period or is qualified for the job, it will be converted into a Japanese Specified Skills No. 1 visa. The first three months after arriving in Japan will be the Japanese language learning period. Two weeks after enrollment, we will arrange a temporary part-time job with a monthly basic salary of JPY¥119,800-160,000.

Matching job types: All the industry above-mentioned.

Salary: Basic salary JPY¥160,000/month, overtime salary JPY¥54,000-108,000/month.

Basic application requirements: 18-35 years old, high school vocational college degree or above. College degree or above is recommended, but when applying for No. 2 visa after the five-year visa expires, the age cannot exceed 35 years old.

Family visa: You cannot apply for a dependent visa while holding the Specific Skills No. 1 visa. You can apply after renewing the No. 2 visa or a formal work visa.

Plan C

One-year official work visa

Because there is no Japanese language foundation, the person has to learn a minimum required standard of Japanese language.

Contents of the plan: After the employee signs the agreement, our company will apply for a one-year Japanese work visa. After the employee arrives at work, our company's executive will support the employee at the work station. After the one-year visa expires, with all the new documents we arrange the process and the employee needs to face an interview on immigration by himself. Our company can provide all other assistance. The pass rate for visa renewal is low, and our company cannot guarantee a successful renewal if you do not reach the minimum requirements of government policy.

Matching job types: Logistics, chef, IT. Other job types depend on employee skills.

Salary: Basic salary JPY¥160,000/month, overtime salary JPY¥54,000-108,000/month.

Basic application requirements: 18-35 years old, bachelor degree or above.

Family visa: You can apply for a family residence visa one month after obtaining the visa and enjoy Japanese social welfare.
